For all those of you that might be following the progress of this site, you will see that I have now uploaded images of all of my replica shirts from 1990 onwards. I have also just now finished the statistical overview of all of Germany’s tournament finals matches dating from Mexico 1986, where you can see complete team line-ups and details of goalscorers, red/yellow cards and match officials.

Part of the plan is to augment these otherwise dry statistics with match reports, all of which will be my own take on each game based on my having watched it at the time. I have been able to watch every single tournament match live, with the exception of two late-night matches during Mexico 1986 – both of which were beyond lights-out time at school – and the match against Uruguay, where I was serving out my very own red card ban. You will no doubt get to hear more about this, and the now rather funny back story.

So you can get a flavour of my reportage, I have posted one for the first match in my list, the first phase tie at Mexico ’86 against Uruguay. You can check it out here.

Keep checking back, more is being added every day.
