As well as the two major international tournaments and the FIFA Confederations Cup, The German national team have also participated in a number of smaller international tournaments. For statistical purposes these mini-tournament matches have been classified as competitive fixtures rather than friendly internationals, though in reality they sit somewhere in between: friendly internationals with a competitive edge, if you wish.
